Okay everybody,
I won’t drone on about how clay
has been a part of my life since I was old enough to make mud
pies (because truthfully it hasn’t been... I came into the
world of clay in 1979 and started selling it in 1991). |
|
So here it goes, the condensed,
easy-to-read story of BS Pottery: |
| |
|
First, the name of my business:
It started out as Shaughnessy's Pottery for a short time. But,
unless you were a part of the family, the spelling was always a
challenge. My initials are B (Barbara) S (Shaughnessy) and I
thought that it would add a little humor as well, so I decided to
shorten it down to BS Pottery it works, I like it anyway.

Now, onto a quickie discussion about the subject matter you really
want to know about... my pots!
I work in stoneware clay, translation: good, durable, functional,
water-tight pots that are oven and microwave-safe, as well as lead
free.
I fire my pots in a electric kiln and reach a temperature of 2260
degrees all my pots are thrown on a potters wheel. Electric is
more dependable for repeatable glaze effects. |
| My aim of this web-site is to show my customers my line of
functional stoneware pottery: We take much pride in what we do.
Every piece of pottery that we make is the culmination of 25 years
of experience. We hope that the work you see on these pages
connect with you in some way. If you make a purchase and if for
any reason you are not satisfied with our work don't hesitate to
tell us and we will make it right. |

I am just a small pottery studio, I make pottery because I love
the whole process. Please remember that not all pots are created
equal! By that statement I mean that my mugs are not all the same
size and the stencils I paint on the outside may be somewhat
similar but never exactly the same. This holds true for all of my
pottery. On that note, thanks for stopping, and enjoy the pottery. |
